I believe in Blue

Super Bowl 2007

Larry and Mark’s Super Bowl Adventure

COLTS can’t win the big one….Manning is a stat boy and disappears in the post season…COLTS are a soft dome team….defense always wins championships…. Dungy is too nice….blah, blah, blah.

Now I bet that the writers are going to be writing about how few Super Bowls the COLTS will win. And so it goes.

Mark and I would like to thank our partner Bryan Whisler and the rest of our team for pulling together and minding the store during our trip to Miami. Let me say for both of us it was an experience that was all we hoped for and then some. Although you at home had better seats (we were six rows from the top of the stadium) the atmosphere was absolutely electric. The rain was annoying but made Mark and I feel like we were part of the event. In short we would not change a thing.

And one final word, when the pundits talk about “nice” they really mean “class”. I could not be prouder of our team, city and especially the fans. And for the record most of the Bear fans were likewise very friendly after the game.

When we first arrived at the stadium we toured the NFL experience, which is a combination of county fair, museum and shopping mall. It was impressive. Although we arrived early, 11:00 on game day, we still had to spend some time waiting in lines. During that time, we met some very interesting people.

Two ladies and a young man behind us in line were from Springfield, Ohio, which is Mark’s wife, Julie’s hometown. They were season ticket holders. When we asked how did that come about, they were kind of evasive until one lady said, well our last name is “Dungy”. They were Tony’s cousins. How fun is that?? We already were having a good time with them and then she dropped that on us. You’ll see them in the pictures of the event.

We also met a COLTS couple that struck up an acquaintance with an elderly couple from Chicago at their hotel. When the Bears fans expressed anxiety about driving and parking at the stadium, the COLTS fans, said hey ride with us. And they did.   Class.

Mark and I have not stopped smiling. We hope all of our clients that we saw there likewise had fun. The memories will last a lifetime. Enjoy the pictures.
